The First Eight List Ever!
A list of songs that touch my heart (only for a little bit, I'm not getting soft) and means something special to me. Limited myself to one song per band, but I can't stand by my own rules.(Fight the power!) Besides, The Beatles are always an exception, right?
(Click on the title to a link to a youtube video of the songs.)
Favorite line: "Like a cat in a bag waiting to drown." So simple, yet so genius.
Favorite line: "And I'm wondering who could be writing this song" Explains insanity so well.
I think it might be the melody, but I really can't explain why I love this song.
This is one of those songs that just stuck out and stuck with me for some reason.
Favorite line: "I'm just a soul whose intentions are good"
Favorite line: "And where the crazy white man And his teargas happiness Lies dead and long since buried By his own fantastic mess For I hate the whiteman And his plastic excuse For I hate the white man And the man who turned him loose..."
Favorite line: Eleanor Rigby: The whole song is so indescribably amazing but the chorus sums it up: "All the lonely people Where do they all come from ?All the lonely people Where do they all belong ? "
A Day in The Life: "Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert hall" just because it doesn't make sense. Also "He blew his mind out in a car" just cause.
Favorite line: "I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad, The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had" Love it. (Gary Jules version is so much better than Tears for Fears' original version)
